This page offers an insight into tree surgery through the questions of our valued Guildford customers.
Why should I choose Angus Wilson Quality Tree Care?
Our tree surgeons have covered the Guildford and Surrey areas for a considerable time. We have made quality tree care the cornerstone of our company, and we excel in all aspects of tree work. Our team adopts an ethical approach that preserves the life of species local to our area wherever possible. We consider tree felling and tree removal as our last options.
We much prefer to maintain or improve the health of trees and hedges, and to preserve local habitats for birds and wildlife.
Is your company insured?
Yes. All tree surgery work undertaken by our company has the backing of sizeable employer and public liability policies. We understand that tree work poses a risk to property and people. By understanding the environment and identifying job hazards before starting work, our tree surgeons minimise risk and help us to preserve an already impeccable health and safety record.
We use safe working practices at all times, particularly for tree felling and tree removal work in the Guildford area.
Which areas do you cover?
We operate out of Chilworth, close to Guildford. We provide quality tree care in all surrounding Surrey areas, and in some parts of the South East too. Primarily, we work for customers in the domestic sector but will happily perform tree surgery for clients in the commercial sector too. From a single tree to an entire patch of woodland, we have your needs covered.
Use our tree surgeons for jobs in Cranleigh, Godalming, Woking and all surrounding towns and villages in the local area.
Are you trained to industry standards?
Yes. We undertake tree work to current BS3998:2010 standards. All arborists working for our company have trained at Merrist Wood College to City & Guilds and NPTC Level 3. This means they can safely use machinery for tree felling and tree removal work, employ rigging systems for dismantling trees, and perform aerial rescue if colleagues encounter difficulty.
Angus Wilson, our business owner, is a proud member of the Arboricultural Association and the Royal Forestry Society.
What do you do with leftover waste?
Upon completion of projects in Guildford, we leave properties tidy and clear of waste. We recycle as much of the timber we derive from tree surgery as possible, with some material going into biomass fuel schemes and the rest of it used to create logs, firewood, woodchip and mulch. If you would like to use this mulch on your own garden, we can leave it onsite for you.
Because our tree surgeons work ethically, it makes sense that no part of a tree, trunk, branch or twig, should go to waste.
I have a tree in an awkward location. Can you remove it?
We have vast experience in tree felling and tree removal. In the course of our tree work, we come across land in Guildford where felling using a more traditional method might cause damage to surrounding properties. Under such circumstances, our tree surgeons opt for sectional dismantling instead, a process where we bring the tree down using rigging systems.
Working from an anchor point, we cut limbs and branches from the bottom, working upward, to remove the tree in sections.
